Matt Brusch, CAE, is President and CEO of NIRI: the Association for Investor Relations. Founded in 1969, NIRI is the professional association of corporate officers and investor relations consultants responsible for communication among corporate management, shareholders, securities analysts, and other financial community constituents. NIRI is the largest professional investor relations association in the world with members representing over 1,500 publicly held companies and $12 trillion in stock market capitalization.
Since joining the NIRI staff as Vice President, Communications in 2007, Brusch has served as Chief Programs Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and he has led NIRI as Interim CEO. Highlights of his tenure include launching NIRI's Investor Relations Charterâ„¢ (IRC) certification program, and leading development, and improving attendee satisfaction of the NIRI Annual Conference, the world's largest investor relations professional conference.
Brusch led the overhaul of NIRI's award-winning IR Update magazine and has authored numerous articles in it and in NIRI's IR Update Weekly. He has also authored and published NIRI research reports, and NIRI Think Tank reports including the Think Tank Report on Corporate Purpose, Artificial Intelligence in Investor Relations - A Report of the Think Tank on AI in IR, and The Disruption Opportunity - A Report of the NIRI Think Tank on the Future of Investor Relations.
He has been involved in capital markets and investor relations for nearly 30 years. Prior to joining the NIRI staff executive team, he was a NIRI member leading the investor relations programs for three public companies. He has also led FP&A, industry analyst relations, and corporate communications. Before this, Brusch served in market surveillance, listings qualifications and relationship management roles with the Nasdaq Stock Market.
Brusch began his career as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy, completing his service with the rank of Lieutenant. He was Ordnance Officer and Combat Information Center Officer onboard USS Taylor (FFG-50) and received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for wartime participation in Operation Ernest Will in the Persian Gulf. He also served onboard USS William H. Standley (CG-32) as Battery Control Officer, and as Officer in Charge, Department of Naval Science at Texas A&M Maritime Academy, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for superior performance.
He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, a B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University, and he is a Certified Association Executive (CAE).

Niels Holch serves as Vice president, Public Policy and Advocacy for NIRI. Mr. Holch is a founding partner of Holch & Erickson LLP. He has more than twenty-five years of experience in both private practice and government service in Washington. In his private practice, he has represented clients on a wide range of issues before the United States Congress and various Federal administrative agencies. These issues include financial market and investment management regulation, Native American law and policy, federal election law and regulation, and energy and environmental law and policy.
Prior to founding Holch & Erickson LLP and a predecessor law firm, McGuiness & Holch, Mr. Holch served as Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), currently the Senate Republican Leader.
Active in various coalitions and nonprofit organizations, Mr. Holch serves as the Executive Director of the Shareholder Communications Coalition (Washington, D.C.); and Chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee, and Member of the Board of Trustees, for the Luminis Health System (Annapolis, Maryland).
Mr. Holch has received five patents for co-inventing the first cashless slot machine to be developed in the United States. More recently, he has received three patents for inventing a series of electronic casino games utilizing a pari-mutuel wagering format.
Mr. Holch graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Ohio Wesleyan University, receiving a B.A. in Economics and Psychology. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Mr. Holch is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. He and his family live in Annapolis, Maryland.
